WANTED: Peer Advisors for Summer 2013 New Student Orientation

Undergraduate Advising hires and trains peer advisors to work part-time during summer NSO.  Peer advisors work closely with academic advisors as they introduce incoming undeclared and HFA students to academic options (including Residential Academic Programs) and set them up with a schedule for their first semester.

All applicants must be:

-UMass Amherst undergraduates with a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA;

-Free of any actions (pending or in place) from the UMass Dean of Students Office;

-Familiar with UMass undergraduate course offerings, majors, General Education requirements, and registration procedures (including SPIRE navigation);

-Enthusiastic about the educational and social atmosphere at UMass Amherst (and the surrounding community) and willing to share that enthusiasm with new students;

-Patient, possess clear oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and good written communication skills.

All applicants must have an anticipated graduation date of 2014 or later.  Preference may be given to applicants with later graduation dates.
